This blog is the spiritual home of Adam Sargant.
I have been an animist all my life, for as long as I can remember, though I never had the words for it. The awareness of the universality of consciousness was so fundamentally clear to me that not to have accepted it as fact would have been like having to give up breathing.
As I grew older, I was able to develop relationships with a presence that was always there, always supporting and protecting. I moved from one school of understanding to another, seeking a language to express my experiences and a community to share them with. I have been advised that this presence was Jesus, was a spirit guide, was a manifestation of my higher self. None of this fitted with my experience.
In recent years, I have come to be happiest understanding and relating to this presence as the spirit of the community of my Ancestors, in blood, tribe and spirit. In discovering the concept of animism, I am able to affirm that consciousness, pure consciousness, is the bedrock of reality. In this blog I shall explore that concept and its consequences.
I am a web applications developer by trade, though I have a background that includes mental health nursing, and NLP and hypnotherapy. I live in West Yorkshire in the UK, with my wife and daughter.
